Engaging in regular structured revision sessions with a physics tutor can greatly enhance your progress in GCSE Physics.
Booking for both of my January courses is now closed. If you are interested in attending one of my courses later in the year please fill out the form below.
I am also working on other ways to support GCSE Students, especially in the run up to exams. Fill out the form below to hear more.
I know that many students studying GCSE Physics and GCSE Combined Science find the physics tricky. It's all too common to hear parents and students describe physics as their 'weak science' and there can be a lot of reasons for this. Sadly, this feeling of 'I don't get physics' leads many students to feel that they never will be able to achieve a good pass in the subject. The good news is that, with the right support and guidance, it's possible to achieve a secure grade 5 without learning every single bit of the physics specification. In this course, I use my experience of preparing thousands of students for these exams, along with my examiner insights, to drill down into the core foundations of each topic. We cover the essential physics which really is worth learning and provides maximum impact for our revision effort.
By the end of this course, students will have understood the core physics that comes up year after year and will know how to maximise their marks on a range of very common exam questions. They will feel more confident about physics and will have the skills to continue to make strong progress after the course through their independent revision.
Seven, weekly live interactive small-group sessions for Paper 1, priced at just £28 per session.
For students aiming for the very highest grades I offer a specialist course designed to support them in tackling the most demanding questions on the GCSE Physics papers. Often, the most able students in school are taught in the largest classes which can make it difficult to get individual support and feedback which is essential when aiming at the top grades. On this course, the class size is deliberately capped at sixteen so there are lots of opportunities for questions, discussion and feedback. Students aiming at these grades typically have a good overall understanding of the material but aren't always able to apply it, especially to the most demanding questions. Rather than reviewing the core content, these sessions focus on the application of the content to the most challenging questions. I share my expert tips on how to score full marks on the most difficult topics as well as my insights into the common mistakes that even the most able students make and how to avoid them.
At the end of this course, students will have encountered a range of the most difficult GCSE Physics questions and will have developed strategies to deal with them. They will know about the common misconceptions and mistakes which often prevent students achieving the highest grades. They will be in an enviable position to excel in GCSE Physics.
Five, weekly live interactive small-group sessions for Paper 1, priced at £35 per session.
